It was a nice sunny day. Puffy clouds were floating in they sky, while Edward was heading to prof. Rowan's side-lab, along with Totodile.
You're excited too, Totodile, ey?
Totodile!
Edward smiled. He couldn't wait to get his first ribbon! He opened the lab's door. Shelves, books.. plenty of books, pokeballs... But no Professor.
Where could he be?

''Well, well! I see we have a new coordinator starting its road towards success! Right, Charmander?''
''Char, charmander!''
Behind Edward were standing Prof. Rowan in his eternal brown suit, along with... a Charmander.
''Come on in, boy! You must be excited to get your bundle...''
The lab was tiny and only had 10 bookshelves with drawers, a few pokeballs, a PC and a healing machine.
''Professor Oak just sent me this Charmander to my lab in Sandgem Town. Quite a little beast it is!''
Rowan went to one of the drawers and took out some items. He then turned back to face Edward.
''Here you are!'' said the professor ''A trustworthy pokedex, a pokeball, a potion, a ribbon case and 3000 pkcash. When you'll decide to enter a gym, you'll get your Sinnoh badge case from there, for I can only give you on of the cases.''
''Char, charmander!''

Seeing the look on Prof. Rowan's face, Edward continued:
I mean... I thought there would be a test or... I don't know... Something more... I guess you have confidence in your young starters!
Edward grinned.
Well, Totodile, ready to start? Let's head to Sandgem Town! Thank you very much Professor! And don't worry, we know the way: we come from Jubilife City, remember?
And so, the duo was gone as fast as it was arrived.
Seeing the look on Prof. Rowan's face, Edward continued:
I mean... I thought there would be a test or... I don't know... Something more... I guess you have confidence in your young starters!
